Ethio-France Investment Forum

The Governments of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the French Republic, in partnership with the European Union, major European corporations, and financial institutions, are convening in Paris on 3 November 2025 for a landmark investment forum. The event seeks to unlock new avenues of collaboration and investment across four strategic sectors—aviation, renewable energy, transport and logistics, and digital innovation including AI and telecommunications. It stands as a testament to the growing economic partnership between Ethiopia and Europe, envisioned to catalyze sustainable growth and technological transformation.

Emphasizing Ethiopia’s remarkable economic progress, H.E. Dr. Gedeon Timotheos, Minister of Foreign Affairs, described the Forum as a defining moment in advancing innovation, infrastructure, and inclusive development. H.E. Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance, highlighted Ethiopia’s ongoing transition toward a liberalized and competitive economy, guided by the Home-Grown Economic Reform Agenda and the Ten-Year Development Plan, where European private investment is seen as pivotal. Similarly, Mr. Philippe Gautier, CEO of MEDEF International, underscored Europe’s recognition of Ethiopia’s vast potential as a dynamic economy and emerging partner in building sustainable, digital, and green infrastructure. The Forum’s discussions will center on transformative projects such as the Bishoftu Airport and Logistics Hub, renewable energy initiatives, the Special Economic Zone, and nationwide digital transformation driven by Ethiopia’s vibrant and tech-savvy youth.

With a population exceeding 130 million and consistent GDP growth above 6%, Ethiopia stands among Africa’s most attractive destinations for investment. Ongoing structural reforms—including the liberalization of state-owned enterprises and the strengthening of industrial and agricultural value chains—are reshaping the investment landscape and opening new frontiers for European engagement. The Forum thus provides a timely platform for participants to gain first-hand insights into Ethiopia’s evolving business environment, explore joint ventures, identify viable investment pipelines, and assess financing opportunities under the Team Europe and Global Gateway frameworks.

Seize these opportunities and invest in the Gada Special Economic Zone — the gateway where your true future begins!
