Gada Special Economic Zone (GSEZ), together with the Oromia Legal Training and Research Institute and the Oromia Police College, held a joint celebration today at the GSEZ compound to mark the inauguration of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). The event brought together higher officials and staff members from the three institutions. During the program, leaders from each organization delivered speeches highlighting the historic significance of the dam. In his concluding remarks, Mr. Motuma Temesgen, CEO of GSEZ and guest of honor, emphasized that the GERD stands as a symbol of Ethiopia’s unity and self-reliance, having been financed entirely through the contributions of its citizens. He further underlined that the dam represents a transformative step in renewable energy development, designed to supply electricity to millions of Ethiopians and serve as a powerful driver of the country’s economic growth.
